The Story

Picked the green tide? Sound choice — now grab the lads. Getting Started with Orks arms you with a mighty 33-model Combat Patrol, the ideal first army for Warhammer 40,000, plus the paints, brush and guidebook to slap 'em together and get 'em stuck in. One box, no guesswork — just add a pair of clippers — and enough Boyz to make a properly rowdy Waaagh! from the off.

What's in the box

  • 33 push-fit Ork miniatures, forming a complete Combat Patrol detachment
  • 11 Warhammer Colour paints, selected just for Orks
  • 1 paint brush to get started
  • 1 texture spreader tool for quick, characterful bases
  • A comprehensive guidebook covering the setting, building and painting

The paints you get

  • Base (8): Abaddon Black, Mephiston Red, Zandri Dust, Mournfang Brown, Wraithbone, Leadbelcher, Runelord Brass and Orruk Flesh
  • Layer (1): Dawnstone — for edges, teef and metal highlights
  • Shade (1): Agrax Earthshade (17ml) — the brown wash that makes green skin and battered armour look properly filthy
  • Texture (1): Armageddon Dust (17ml) — scrubby wasteland bases in one coat

That selection covers the whole method — base, shade, highlight and basing — so there's nothing missing between you and a table full of finished Boyz. Thirty-three models is a serious amount of plastic for the money: a ready-made horde that works as a Combat Patrol force for smaller games and a rock-solid core for a bigger army later.

Supplied unpainted; push-fit assembly, clippers not included. When the mob's done, pile on more Orks units or add a 40K Paints + Tools Set to widen your palette. New to 40K? Our guide to the 11th edition starter sets compares every beginner box — see them all in the 40K starter sets range.
