The Story

The dark grey behind the canopy on late-war Luftwaffe fighters. RLM 66 became the standard cockpit and crew-compartment colour from around mid-1941 (in practice a little earlier), and the standard interior colour from summer 1944. It even makes a good match for the 'Eggplant Grey' on some modern Russian strike jets. A go-to for any German cockpit.
