The Story

The signature early-war US Navy blue-grey. M-485 went onto the upper surfaces of American carrier aircraft in the Blue Grey over Light Grey scheme from October 1941, and by February 1942 it had spread to shore-based Navy machines too. If you're doing a Wildcat, Dauntless or Devastator from the opening year of the Pacific war, this is the colour on top.
